CULTURAL AND LINGUISTIC DIVERSE COMMUNITY PROJECT
At the beginning of 2024 we were lucky enough to have Kate and Leila, two passionate UniSA Occupational Therapy students, collaborate with us here at West Coast Youth and Community Support on an exciting 9-week project! Their aim was to connect with those from different cultural backgrounds (the CALD Community) to help understand their experiences here in Port Lincoln and support positive changes they want to see in the community.
During their time here in Port Lincoln they talked to people from a range of countries and cultural groups to hear about their experience in Port Lincoln. They wanted to know “What's been good?”, “What's been hard?”, and any suggestions for change. Together, the project aimed to bring attention to community needs that may have gone unnoticed.
Fast forward to February 2025 and we are, again, very lucky to have Teja and Lottie, another two passionate UniSA Occupational Therapy students, here collaborating with us to further the exciting 9-week, CALD project! Their project aims to promote inclusivity and foster a greater sense of belonging for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse residents of Port Lincoln! They would love to hear from you! Your input is invaluable to help them shape a community where everyone feels welcome and heard.
